Peace lilies prefer bright indirect light, but will tolerate lower light levels. Direct sunlight may cause burning of the leaves and too little light will hinder new bloom development.
Water them thoroughly and allow the top layer of the to soil start to dry before re-watering. Make sure they are in a well-drained pot and do not let the soil to stay soggy as this can cause root-rot.
Fertilize them only twice a year when either blooming or new growth is developing.
Peace lilies do like high humidity and if the humidity is too low it will show browning on the edges of the leaves. If this happens a pebble tray can be placed below the pot, (but not so the roots sit in water) or a humidifier can be used.
They prefer temperatures between 65-75°, but they can handle 50° if it does not happen too often.
Peace lily blooms can last for a few weeks. As they fade keep them trimmed off. You only need to re-pot if it dries out every two to three days. If it wilts, it should recover quickly with a good drink of water. It may produce a few yellow leaves after wilting, just trim them off. When re-potting, use a peat based soilless mix Do not jump pot sizes too quickly as this can cause root rot and may take the plant longer before it reblooms. Peace lilies are one of the leading houseplants for cleansing the air and it is very easy to grow.
